Explore the life and work of artist Jacob Lawrence in this expert-led online discussion organized in conjunction with the MSV display of the traveling exhibition Jacob Lawrence: 3 Series of Prints.

Led by Kenlontae Turner, curator from the Hampton University Museum—the nation’s oldest African American museum—this program will offer insights into Lawrence’s prints on view at the MSV, as well as works in the Hampton University Museum’s collection and beyond, highlighting how Lawrence used his artistic vision to reflect on the past, present, and future.

About Kenlontae Turner: A Hampton Roads native, Turner earned his bachelor’s degree in studio art with a double minor in art history and museum studies from Christopher Newport University and his master’s degree in art and museum studies from Georgetown University. His work focuses on creating opportunities for viewers to learn more about artists of color and their impact on culture and history.
