Scraposaurs is bringing colossal creatures to the MSV gardens from April 1 through October 19, 2025. Featuring 14 dinosaurs and prehistoric animals made entirely from scrap metal and found objects, Scraposaurs is an outdoor exhibition that will captivate all ages. Created by Minnesota artist Dale Lewis, highlights include an 18-foot-long stegosaurus named Stanley; an 1,800-pound T-Rex with ribs and teeth from a John Deere rotary hoe; and a woolly rhino covered in 600 hundred pounds of tie wire “hair.” Each sculpture blends art and history in a fun and imaginative way.
Admission to Scraposaurs (includes gardens & galleries): $15, $10 youth (13–18)/senior (60+), and $5 for ages 5–12. Admission is free to MSV members, ages 4 & under, and—through the Museums for All program—individuals receiving food assistance/SNAP benefits (present EBT card for free admission). Note: while MSV gallery admission is always free to ages 12 & under and free to all on Wednesdays, these free-admission offers do not include Scraposaurs or the house & gardens from now–October 19, 2025. Made by Dale Lewis, "Musk Ox Mom" [detail] is a life-sized musk oxen made of scrap steel and covered with salvaged steel banding for hair.
"Little Susie" [detail] by Dale Lewis. This sculpture was inspired by the famous T-Rex fossil named Sue that was 42 feet long. Little Susie is just over six feet tall and has railroad spike toes, galvanized lag screws for teeth, and red glass eyes.
